The Výpustek Cave is a wide and unique underground system created many centuries ago. Nevertheless, its areas were significantly affected by phosphate clay exploitation and activities of both the Czechoslovak and the German armies during the 20th century. In the sixties an underground fallout shelter and a secret command post were created in one of the corridors. Visitors will learn about the whole history of this unique cave, including the last “socialist secret bunker”.

There is a second tour circuit - the adventure tour DESCOVER THE SECRETS OF THE CAVE, which can be ordered by appointment in advance (max. 10 persons over 6 years of age).

Directions
Parking is available for free in the parking lot in the fenced area near the entrance building of the cave. The parking lot, including the area, closes after the end of operating hours. Parking is reserved for buses next to the building.
The tour of the cave is barrier-free for mechanical wheelchairs (electric wheelchairs have problems with higher thresholds. Tour with an electric wheelchair only the cave area (without shelter) possible by arrangement).
In the entrance building there is an interactive exhibition Caves and people (on the 1st floor), a souvenir and drink shop, a coffee machine and toilets.
Bicycles can be parked near the ticket office.
The nearest bus stop is Březina, jeskyně Výpustek (300 m; in the direction of Adamov directly at the cave), the train stop Adamov (5.5 km).

Our group had an especially organised tour in English with a former Army Major, now caving expert as our guide. He was perfect for explaining the unusual military history of the caves, as well as the palaeontological & geological significance of the Výpustek cave system. Absolutely fascinating, & I look forward to a return visit, because there is so much more detail we could have covered.
